Job Summary:The role of the Production Supervisor entails overseeing plant operations with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This encompasses tasks such as scheduling, organizing, directing, and coordinating all operational activities to ensure the production of high-quality goods. The Production Supervisor is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, enforcing company policies, and adhering to good manufacturing practices. This position may require working across various shifts.Primary Responsibilities:Supervise a team of employees to guarantee the timely and quality production of goods.Coordinate production schedules, summarize packing outputs, analyze results, calculate shift yield and throughput, and determine labor hours.Evaluate baking processes, ensure quality standards, troubleshoot issues, maintain cleanliness, monitor process controls, and adhere to GMPs.Train and provide continuous guidance to staff in production, baking, and packing roles.Support the Production Manager in addressing quality concerns, conducting troubleshooting, and finding solutions.Manage the Sanitation Department by assigning cleaning tasks to sanitation employees, monitoring progress, checking equipment during startup, coordinating equipment cleaning during breaks, and reporting assignment issues to the sanitation supervisor.Perform daily departmental inspections to identify safety concerns and rectify infractions. Conduct monthly engaging safety meetings for all shift employees.Collaborate with the maintenance manager to address equipment issues and repairs, proactively ensuring equipment maintenance.Coordinate employee development, provide counseling, and enforce progressive discipline according to labor agreements, plant rules, and policies.Participate in trial runs for new products.Attend annual food safety training programs, covering topics such as Food Defense, GMPs, Food Safety, Pre-requisite Programs, and Allergen Control.Remain vigilant in adhering to company food defense procedures and promptly report any suspicious activity to management.Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all processing paperwork.Qualifications/Requirements:Willingness to work on the 3rd shift.3+ years of Production Supervisory experience Familiarity with production, supervision, and a working understanding of formulas and wholesale bakery equipment would be beneficial.High school diploma or equivalent.Bakery Manufacturing experience
