Available Opportunities:
* Registered Nurse (RN): The RN Clinical Nurse - Emergency
Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of
licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients,
families and significant others receive individualized high
quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment
that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is
supported through the WellStar Shared Governance Model. The
framework for practice is steered by the WellStar Professional
Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing and evidence based practice and
research. RN competencies are derived from these models and
supported by the WellStar Core Competencies.
* Centralized Support Tech (CST): The Centralized Support
Technician will function as versatile employee that provides
support to nursing units at Wellstar Hospitals by assisting with
patient safety sitting, patient transports, room turnover that
includes a full range of cleaning duties to assigned area, and
assisting the nutrition and food services liaisons with patient
meal delivery and retrieval. The Centralized Support Technician
should assume the role of patient advocate providing world-class
customer care in daily job duties as well as any additional duties
as assigned.
* ED Technician (EDT): The Emergency Department Tech Level 1 is a
multi-skilled caregiver who functions under the direction of the
professional Registered Nurse. Provides safe, age-appropriate care
to the patient by performing the following patient care functions
and technical procedures: vital signs, 12-lead EKG, bedside blood
sugar testing, superficial wound care, oral suctioning, splint
application, instruction of safe ambulation with crutches. Must
understand and practice aseptic technique when required: urethral
catheterization, sterile tray preparation, dressing applications
and all phlebotomy. Must be able to operate and observe cardiac
monitors to ensure recognition of arrhythmias (site specific
Kennestone ED), as well as operate pulse oximetry monitors.
Requires knowledge of all specialty instruments and trays,
including trauma resuscitation equipment and set-up, ENT trays,
special procedure trays. Transports patients, unit supplies,
equipment, and patient medications. Assures patient care area is
appropriately stocked with supplies. Monitor's patients in
restraint/seclusion and documents observations. Performs other
duties deemed necessary to ensure delivery of patient care.
* Command Center Tech (CCT): The Command Center Technician manages
communications from prehospital providers for Kennestone Emergency
Department (ED). Effectively coordinates hospital response to the
needs of the pre-hospital patient under the direction of the
Kennestone ED Patient Flow Coordinators and EMS Coordinator.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Experience:
* Experience with direct patient care or previous healthcare
experience preferred.
Required Minimum Skills:
* Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the
use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer
skills.
* Strong Interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer
service skills Required.
* Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to
emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful
manner.
* Possess excellent time management skills.
* Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with
possessing strong critical thinking skills.
