Responsibilities:
Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a board eligible/board certified, fellowship trained, Surgical Oncologist to join our established and dynamic surgery group at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Kennestone is a 633-bed, level 2 trauma center located in Marietta, about 45 minutes Northwest of downtown Atlanta. Wellstar Summit Surgical is comprised of 3 general surgeons, 1 Endocrine surgeon and 2 Surgical Oncologists. Ideal candidates will have interest and experience in robotics and general surgical oncology. The Surgical Oncologists take care of all complex general surgical oncology patients for Wellstar Health System including, but not limited to, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, esophageal, gastric, colorectal, melanomas and sarcomas. They offer advanced procedures including cytoreduction and HIPEC and have established an advanced minimally invasive surgical oncology program here, including robotic foregut and hepatobiliary surgery. Kennestone has multiple XI robots available to surgeons. Even the ambulatory surgery center offers the opportunity to perform robotic surgery. Current office location is at Kennestone, but future plans may include expansion to additional Wellstar locations. Surgical Oncology practice call will be 1:3. No ER call as this is covered by trauma/emergency general surgery.
Qualifications:
Board eligible or board certified and fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology. Robotics interest and/or experience. Interest in having a full surgical oncology practice.
