Centerra is looking for Fire Prevention Safety Inspector in
Marietta, GA upon contract award.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision perform the duties of Fire Inspector
consistent with the policies and practices established by the
Department of Defense, the United States Air Force, the National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), NAS 3306 and Prime Contractor
for performance under the CCSFS FEMS Contract.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts an information program to elicit support and
involvement in fire prevention, detection, and suppression.
Performs fire prevention and safety inspections for violations of
fire codes, fire hazards, and fire safety deficiencies. Conducts
monthly and annual Fire extinguisher equipment inspections and
minor maintenance accordance with fire department guidance.Secures
client interest through emphasis of pertinent fire prevention
topics and developing messages from actual fire incidents.
Regularly disseminates information through a variety of media, such
as the daily bulletin, the base newspaper, special base
events/gatherings, and regular orientations and workshops.
Interacts with a wide variety of employees and others in all
aspects of fire prevention. Coordinates established fire watch
programs, such as fire marshal program, through building
custodians/facilities managers. Develops and conducts extensive
fire protection and prevention education and training programs.
Provides materials and both situational and classroom training at
installation fire prevention activities such as Fire Prevention
Week, Open Houses, etc., and addresses a variety of client groups
in fire program methods and goals.
Occasionally, participates with fire prevention or safety engineers
in studying fire prevention problems and investigating actual
incidents.
2. Develops and maintains a variety of documentation such as fire
prevention inspection schedules and facilities jackets on assigned
facilities.
Jackets include information on hazards, prefire plans, risk
assessment codes (RAC), and regularly scheduled and special
inspections conducted. Documentation includes recommendations,
follow-up reports, resolutions, name of building custodian, last
training conducted, etc. Conducts fire protection and prevention
education and training as required. Prepares narrative and
statistical reports on program status. Approves/disapproves the
issuance of various permits such as welding/cutting, open burning,
and fuel transfer operations.
3. Performs rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures
to alleviate further injury and prepare victim(s) for transport to
a medical facility.
Uses direct pressure and/or tourniquets to stop bleeding, checks
windpipe for obstructions, performs CPR, and/or provides other
appropriate assistance IAW certified level of training.
Participates in regular training and exercises as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certifications:
DOD and/or IFSAC Fire Inspector I
2. Education
High School Diploma or GED
3. Special Requirements
Obtain and maintain DOD security clearance (Secret).
Possess a valid Georgia State driver's licenset.
Possess good oral and written communication skills.
Employee must successfully complete annual physical and pass random
drug test.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are

essential functions of this job. Work is performed primarily in an
office, but can include: outdoor settings in all weather conditions
including temperature extremes during both day and night.
The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts,
occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical
shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office
settings and can be loud during training evolution or at an
emergency scene.
