Biomed Technician performs a variety of technical duties, and
acting independently, provides preventive maintenance, inspection
and repairs on electro medical equipment and instruments under the
general supervision of the facility's Biomedical Engineering
Manager. Participates in the installation, maintenance and
troubleshooting of networked medical devices and their integration
with Electronic Medical Records.QualificationsRequired Minimum
Education
- Minimum Associate's degree required
- Knowledge in electronic digital circuitry and basic
understanding of electronics and electromechanical devices
- Formal OEM or 3rd party service training for deployment,
maintenance or trouble shooting of at least one class of biomedical
devices and integrated systemsRequired Minimum Certification
- A+ certification required. Net+, CCNA or other advanced
training and certification preferred
- Certification as a Biomedical Engineering Technician
preferredRequired Minimum Experience
- Formal internship associated with a degree program
- Three years of experience as a PM technician or three years
related experience in repair and preventive maintenance on a
variety of biomedical equipment
- Demonstrated participation in cross disciplinary projects and
activities within healthcare facilities
- Experience in supporting network medical devices and
systemsRequired Minimum Skills
- Basic understanding of general Biomed systems and sterilization
technology.
- Experience in supporting networked medical devices and
systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel
and PowerPoint.
- Capable of interpreting building architectural and systems
drawings and information.
- Able to deliver presentations regarding medical devices and
