Description:Status: Non-exemptJob SummaryThe X-ray Technician will be responsible for preparing patients for x-rays and educate them on the process, taking X-Rays of patients as directed, maintaining X-Ray equipment and maintenance schedule, and maintaining inventory and other x-ray supplies. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and a current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. One year of experience as a radiologic technologist is preferred. This individual must be able to work independently and have excellent customer service skills. This position is for our Immediate Care Clinic. Hours are Monday - Friday: Noon - 9:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Several shifts available; full-time and part-time with premium pay for weekends and holidays.Job ResponsibilitiesOperates x-ray/C-arm equipment related to patient care, image processing, image transmission, image archiving, and computerized electronic medical records.Obtains informed consentResponsible for providing x-rays ordered by the providers. Responsible for quality x-rays to include correct image, right or left markers, and patient ID. Proper use of business computer. Communicates with the x-ray supervisor or manager with any concerns or operational questions / problemsEstablishes a professional relationship with the physicians, co-workers, and clinical staff. Responsible for training new x-ray technologist on how to perform x-rays and maintain workflow in the clinical x-ray setting. Help clinical staff with PACS to include importing and exporting images. Maintain ordering of x-ray supplies when necessary. Follows the ARRT Standards of Ethics. Uses critical thinking principles in making decisions which lead to desired outcomes while participating in the achievement of organizational and department goals by following OrthoAtlanta and departmental policies. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to Chief Technologist. Attends and/or completes educational requirements, to maintain licensure.Other duties may be assigned..Requirements:High School or GED.
