We continue to provide innovative care models, focused on improving quality and access to healthcare.Responsibilities Reporting to the SVP and Chief Nursing Executive, the Vice President System Nursing Operations (VPNO) will oversee the day to day nursing and patient care services practices across the Wellstar system. The Vice President System Nursing Operations represents the CNE in his/her absence. VPNO will play a large role in the design of the professional practice of nursing, and strategic plan of business operations for Nursing and patient services function across the System. This role supports the office of the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) in leading the strategic vision of Nursing across the WellStar Health System. The focus of this role is to strategically analyze and implement key initiatives, and innovations that contribute to the plan, coordination and leadership of nursing operations in the provision of high-quality cost-effective care, delivering value to our patients, consumers and the communities that we serve.The VP System Nursing Operations works in partnership with other System executives and leaders to foster an interdisciplinary team approach to the overall delivery of care .This individual brings and in-depth knowledge of nursing operations from a clinical, quality, practice, and emerging models of care perspective. This leader will partner with the CNO's, and executive nursing leaders across the organization to assess operations effectiveness, identify opportunities for redesign and optimization of processes, human talent, and technology. They will collaborate and lead the implementation of best-practice and innovations in care and to meet the needs of a complex and growing integrated health system. As a member of the executive team, this leader is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory laws that govern the WellStar Health System are upheld and represents patient care issues at the highest level. It is expected that is leader is licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses AssociationJob Requirements:Required Minimum Education: * Bachelor's degree in nursing. * Master's degree in nursing, or MBA, MHA or other associated area of study. Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: * Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). * National certification in nursing administration preferred. Required Minimum Experience: * Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a healthcare environment. * Ten years of Nursing leadership experience required. * Demonstrated experience in a complex, integrated health system environment required. * Expert knowledge of clinical systems that support operational efficiencies as it relates to clinical nursing initiatives. * Demonstrated ability to lead and sustain change in an urgent and fast-paced environment required. * Experience with integrating EBP into practice environment required. * Application of Lean methodology to drive process improvement at a system level, with proven ability to coach and develop leaders. * Knowledge of tools, systems, and evidence-based practices utilized to support nursing operations.* Experience with healthcare mergers and acquisitions highly desirable.Required Minimum Skills: * Knowledgeable regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements of Nursing and Clinical Practice required to deliver quality care and services across a complex integrated health system. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitator, teacher, coach, strategic partner, process improvement/lean management, and business acumen necessary to serve in an executive role.* The ability to plan and manage projects, including assigned personnel, multiple competing projects, or resource demands to meet project deadlines on time and within budget.
