Become A Night Shift Dispatcher for First Transit! Job Purpose As a First Transit Dispatcher you will manage Paratransit and FLEX services to provide safe, professional, reliable, and efficient transit service to customers. This position is for a Night Shift Dispatcher. First Transit is proud to offer:

    • Execute Smart Drive Discipline and show clips to operators if needed
    • Provides customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations, and missed trip
    • Conduct AM and PM Security Safety Check of building
    • Must conduct Paratransit AM and PM “Lot Check”, following proper lot check procedures
    • Book Paratransit Service Reservations
    • Scheduling for Paratransit Service trips
    • Must conduct FLEX AM and PM “Lot Check”, following proper lot check procedures
    • Book FLEX Service Reservations
    • Scheduling for FLEX Service trips
    • Record mileage of FLEX vehicles
    • Print next service day FLEX manifests
    • Retrieve cash from Black Box on vehicles with Farebox challenges when required
      • Retrieve Black Box Contents
      • Completed Black Box Form
      • Copy Black Box Form to place in Cash Bag
      • Must immediately drop cash bag in cash bag drop to safe in reception area
      • Manually update database with arrival and departure times and mileage as required
      • Conduct Trip Edit of each manifest, daily
      • Scan and email all manifests to management daily
      • Manually enter daily required data into the Daily Operations Report (DOR
      • Properly handling Accidents and Incidents
        • Enter data into DOR immediately
        • Email within 30 minutes to CobbLincDOR - must copy/paste Accidents and Incidents from DOR;
        • Manages emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services
        • Manages daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service
        • Make schedule changes as necessary to ensure on-time performance
        • Assign trips as necessary to minimize deadhead miles/time and maximize efficiency while ensuring timely pickups
        • Complete Out-Of-Window forms daily for each OOW occurrence
        • View and edit trips using correct vehicles and drivers
        • Be able to geographically locate drivers at all times
        • Reassign trips as necessary to accommodate maintenance and trip demands
        • Document schedule changes
        • Ensure timely performance of all trips by monitoring driver routes periodically
        • Ensure proper radio and 10-code use
        • Document all driver call outs, including early and late starts, and early and late finish
        • Accept, Stamp Date, and Time for Time Off Requests
        • Monitor drivers for the proper uniforms
        • Handle ETA Calls from customers
        • Handle and filter calls received from and/or from Customers, Reservations, Customer Service, Management, Safety, etc
        • Communicate cancellations and trip changes to drivers
        • Assist drivers in finding locations
        • Keep an accurate record of incidents and accidents and make sure to document in dispatch log and follow up with immediate supervisor
        • Assist drivers and notify proper authorities in the event of accident
        • Strive to perform the highest standard of customer service daily
        • Anticipate potential trouble and respond accordingly and promptly
        • Inform maintenance department of any road service calls Experience & Skills Required:
          • High school diploma or equivalent
          • Technical degree preferred
          • Night Shift availability
          • 3-5 years experience
          • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
          • Problem solving and analytical abilities.
          • Excellent customer service skills
          • Previous dispatch, customer service, or scheduling experience
          • Excellent phone demeanor and customer service skills
          • Ability to work independently
          • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, judgment, multitask, and problem solving abilities
          • Experience with Trapeze scheduling software is preferred.
