Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in
direct patient care preferred License: RN - Reg Nurse (Single
State) or RN-COMPACT (Multi-state Compact) Certifications: BLS -
Basic Life Support, ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Must-Have:
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language Strong
interpersonal and collaborative skills Ability to function in a
fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive,
composed, and respectful manner Excellent time management skills
Analytical and critical thinking skills Description: The RN
Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an
interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They
ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive
individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. This role includes
practicing in a clinical environment supported through shared
governance. The framework for practice is guided by a professional
practice model and evidence-based practice and research. The RN
Clinical Nurse is expected to uphold the practice of nursing as
outlined by the state’s Professional Nurse Practice Act. Core
responsibilities include: Performing the nursing process
(assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning,
implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care. Providing
relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with
population-specific characteristics. Partnering with patients and
their significant others in a manner that focuses on the patients'
goals. Practicing using current clinical practice standards.
Teamwork and collaboration responsibilities include: Coordinating
the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
Demonstrating teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible
manner. Supporting performance improvement and participating in
shared governance at all levels. Professional development
responsibilities include: Completing all initial and ongoing
professional competency assessments and required education. Serving
as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
Evidence-based practice and research responsibilities include:
Promoting evidence-based practice in nursing and participating in
activities relevant to patient care. Upholding all policies and
standards set forth by professional associations. Participating in
data collection and posing relevant clinical questions. Resource
and support responsibilities include: Proactively planning for the
care of patients across the care continuum. Participating in the
development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice
outcomes. Supporting efficient and effective use of human and
material resources. Other duties as assigned. Candidates are
expected to comply with all system policies, standards of work, and
