Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical

joint replacements - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias -
Experience with rapid response and code teams - Knowledge in
peripheral line care and management - Familiarity with non-invasive
airway management - Understanding of isolation precautions
Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First-time
travelers are accepted. The patient population includes adolescents
to geriatrics. The unit handles medical surgical overflow cases.
Common procedures include total hip arthroplasty, total knee
arthroplasty, total shoulder arthroplasty, and care for trauma
patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:5-6. The
average daily census is around 24 patients in a 27-bed unit. Unit
systems utilized include electronic health records and medication
dispensing systems. Scrub color is navy blue. Travelers are
expected to work every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
Floating may be required within the facility. Call requirements are
not applicable. If one major holiday occurs during the assignment
period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays
occur, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major
holidays occur, the traveler must work two of them. Major holidays
include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New
Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance is required to start on
time; delays in compliance will result in a potential pushback of 2
weeks. Two supervisory references are preferred at the time of
submission. Candidates must submit core items and complete
necessary requirements promptly after signing the contract to
ensure an on-time start. Previous charge experience is preferred,
but not mandatory. Willingness to work within specified patient
ratios during days, nights, and weekends is essential. The unit
provides interdisciplinary support from various services including
therapy, respiratory, phlebotomy, radiology, and social services. A
thorough understanding of the patient diagnoses within the medical
surgical overflow context is important. Special equipment used in
