Pay Information $2,300 per week About The Position Job Title: RN Clinical Periop Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours (0645 - 1715) Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN - Single State or Multi-State Compact Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Must-Have: Diploma from an accredited nursing program Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred Ability to read, write, and speak English Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies Possess excellent time management skills Strong critical thinking skills Description: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core competencies. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the relevant professional association. As a member of the patient services team, they uphold the voice of the patient and system policies. They also support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: They perform the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care is individualized, coordinated through effective partnerships, and centered on achieving optimal patient care outcomes. Patient-centered care reflects cultural diversity and adapts service delivery based on population-specific characteristics. The nurse partners with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods for communication. They practice according to current clinical practice standards. In Teamwork and Collaboration: They coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. This includes diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods. They demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing fiscal responsibility. Participation in performance improvement is essential to promote safe, quality patient care. They support shared governance at all levels. In Professional Development and Initiative: They complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments. They serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff. In Evidence-Based Practice and Research: The RN promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research. They participate in activities such as value analysis for evaluating patient care products. They uphold all organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards. In Resources and Support: They plan for the care of patients across the continuum of care while giving direct patient care. They participate in protocol development when called upon. Support is given for the efficient and effective use of resources.
