qualified CVICU RN in Atlanta, Georgia, 30309! Pay Information
$2,150 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
(CVICU) Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours
(07:00 - 19:00) Experience: 2 years (prior to travel) License: Must
hold a valid state nursing license Certifications: Relevant
certifications for specialty Must-Have: Immediate post open heart
surgical admission experience Description: The CVICU is a 42-bed
intensive care unit specializing in open-heart surgery. The unit
averages 6-8 bypass pump surgical cases per day. It also manages
post-surgical heart transplants and LVAD patients. Nurses in this
unit must have experience with Swan Ganz catheters. Experience in
utilizing the manual thermodilution syringe to calculate cardiac
index is required. Epicardial and transvenous pacing wire
experience is also necessary. Common diagnoses include advanced
heart failure, multi-vessel disease, coronary artery disease,
pulmonary hypertension, and valvular heart disease. Common bedside
procedures include assisting with bronchoscopies, intubations,
tracheostomies, central line insertions, and arterial line and Swan
Ganz catheter line insertions. Weekend rotation is every other
weekend. No call shifts are required. Floating within
facility/scope of practice may be necessary as needed. If one major
holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is
expected to work. If two major holidays occur, the traveler must
work both. If three major holidays occur, the traveler is expected
to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas
Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year’s Day. Compliance is
