and Minimum 1 year experience in Mammography Preferred License:
ARRT Radiography Certifications: ARRT Mammography, Basic Life
Support (BLS) - Instructor Must-Have: Excellent communication

multitasking Understanding of anatomy and pathology Description:
Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be
dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists in providing
safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams
according to department procedures. Has the knowledge and ability
to obtain quality diagnostic studies safely. Responsible for
performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring
independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing
equipment for diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. Sets up
equipment to provide imaging service and positions patients for
procedures. Must maintain minimum requirements for continuing
education, experience, and equipment. Obtains complete clinical
history, gathers examination data, and assesses for
contraindicating conditions. Ensures that all studies have proper
patient identification and right and left marker utilization.
Reviews radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and
releases patients. Responds to emergency situations using critical
thinking skills. Seeks clarification on ambiguous orders. Assists
other technologists in all modalities when needed. Observes patient
conditions and evaluates situations for necessary physician
intervention. Verifies two unique patient identifiers per policy
and proper clinician order before performing procedures. Ensures
patient privacy and comfort are accommodated. Demonstrates
competence in the determination and application of appropriate
procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient
age. Understands and documents the Pre-Procedure Verification and
Time-Out process when applicable. Organizes schedule, time, and
priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time
frames. Follows physician instructions when assisting with
procedures and exams. Practices Read Back and Confirm when taking
verbal orders. Demonstrates the ability to adjust technique for the
best study quality while maintaining image quality. Reports
equipment malfunctions to ensure timely correction. Cleans,
disinfects, and maintains equipment following infection control
policies. Explains purpose and nature of exams to minimize patient
anxiety and facilitate cooperation. Addresses patients' questions,
concerns, or contraindications satisfactorily or notifies the
physician when necessary. Participates in the orientation and
training of departmental employees. Ensures documentation is
concise, legible, and uses precise terminology. Reads emails daily
and follows through with assignments. Completes mandatory
departmental and education requirements without prompting.
Maintains a first-time acceptance rate of 95 percent for images
produced. Checks equipment for proper calibration and operating
deficiencies prior to use. Completes all studies in the system,
ensuring images are oriented, marked, labeled, and noted correctly.
Maintains documentation to meet accreditation standards. Familiar
with completing and documenting quality control tests when
applicable. Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains the
department in clean and orderly condition. Transports and positions
patients and assists them on and off the procedure table. Performs
patient charging activities on the day of service. Applies
shielding and prepares patient follow-up data. Lends knowledge and
assistance to others as needed. Performs routine duties of clerical
and support personnel as warranted. Keeps supervisor informed on
responsibilities and notifies promptly of any issues. Maintains
individual productivity rate equal to co-workers. Familiar with
tracking systems utilized within the department. Maintains
standards set by regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as
assigned.
