  • Provide comprehensive care throughout the ante-, intra-, and post-partum periods.
  • Implement the Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring individualized care.
  • Utilize critical thinking to manage complex patient situations.
  • Administer medications and perform pre-procedure preparations and safety checks.
  • Maintain sterile technique and demonstrate IV administration competency.
  • Engage with patients and families through effective communication and care planning.Quality and Patient Safety:
    • Verify patient identification using two identifiers.
    • Ensure clarity in verbal orders and complete necessary procedural verifications.
    • Adhere to health care policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.Job Responsibilities:
      • Flexibility in hours to meet departmental needs.
      • Complete ongoing competency assessments and required education.
      • Foster teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team.
      • Mentor and precept other nurses and students to build a skilled workforce.
      • Maintain effective communication and provide patient transport and comfort.
      • Stay current with BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
      • Participate in training and staff meetings.Patient Education:
        • Educate patients and families on care procedures and post-procedural instructions.Other Duties:
          • Perform additional tasks as assigned and comply with all WellStar Health System policies and standards of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
            • Diploma from an accredited nursing program or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).Required Licenses and Certifications:
              • RN (Single State or Multi-state Compact) required.
              • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
              • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
              • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
              • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.Preferred Certification:
                • National certification in a specialty area.Required Experience:
                  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.Required Skills:
                    • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
                    • Basic computer skills and ability to leverage technology in clinical care.
                    • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
                    • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment and respond to emergencies effectively.
                    • Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
