  Day-to-Day:
  An oncology nurse's day typically begins with patient assessments, checking vital signs, and reviewing medical histories. Accurate documentation is maintained, and follow-up care is conducted to monitor patients post-treatment. Oncology nurses advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system and provide emotional and psychological support. They may also participate in cancer research and clinical trials, and attend team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans. Often, oncology nurses work in pods, which consist of a provider, nurse, physician assistant (PA), and certified medical assistant (CMA), ensuring comprehensive and collaborative care for patients. Their role is crucial in ensuring patients receive comprehensive care and support throughout their cancer journey.
