Job Description:

- Under general supervision, provides professional public health nursing services in accordance with Georgia State Nursing Protocols

- Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

o Provide wide range of Public Health Nursing Services including Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infection testing and treatment, Immunizations and Well Women and Breast Test and exams using Department of Public Health Nurse Protocols for Registered Professional Nurses.

- Work alongside Medical Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to evaluate the health of patients and create treatment plans for patients aged 12-65

- Provide patient education about available support services and helping them access care

- Working with public health officials to help underserved communities gain access to care

- Emphasizing primary prevention to avoid disease or injury before it occurs

- Skills: will be trained, expanded role nurses (physicals, order studies/labs, decision treatments)

o All taught from nurse protocols - not relying on MD orders
- Public health experience
- Need to have BSN but NO experience needed!

- Can be entry level as long as they has passion to work with underserved patients

- Flexibility

- Critical thinking skills

- Ability to work independently with following state protocol

- Strong assessment skills
