Job Description:
The HR Director, North America is responsible for the strategic,
tactical, and administrative human resource functions for employees
located within North America. -Responsibilities span the broad
spectrum of human resources, including employee relations,
compliance, talent management, compensation, and benefits. -The
Director should have strong strategic and tactical expertise, and
is relied on for counsel, leadership, execution, innovation, and
results that advance organizational goals. -In addition, this
leadership role serves as a business partner who is collaborative
and capable of building consensus and commitment towards shared
outcomes.
The skill to operate in a fast-paced environment with a
professional demeanor is pivotal. Having the ability to prioritize
assignments and quickly pivot within a complex work environment is
essential to success.
Responsibilities:
- - - - - - -Partner with the leadership team to formulate,
develop, implement, and evaluate an HR and Talent Management
strategy to achieve NPSG's organizational goals.
- - - - - - -Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends
including review of reports and metrics from HCM (Workday) and
other systems.
- - - - - - -Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices,
regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent
management, and employment law and apply this knowledge to
communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior
leadership.
- - - - - - -Develop and implement policies, processes, training,
and initiatives, in response to trends and organizational
objectives.
- - - - - - -Model and promote NPSG values in interactions with all
stakeholders, e.g., employees, peers, customers, and suppliers.
- - - - - - -Develop and drive talent management strategies to
ensure effective staffing alignment with the needs of the
business.
- - - - - - -Mitigate risk to the organization through proactive
training and education, clear systems, and processes for managing
conflict, handling, and investigating complaints.
- - - - - - -Oversee and manage leave programs, e.g., FMLA,
Disability, and Personal leave to ensure regulatory requirements
and employee engagement.
- - - - - - -Collaborate and actively participate with HR Systems
team in the optimization and integration of HR technology, enabling
managers and NPSG associates to easily perform people-related
transactions.
- - - - - - -Provide counsel to operational and corporate
leadership, while guiding employees at all levels of the
organization. -This includes balancing the role of employee
advocate with the needs of the business
- - - - - - -Coach and mentor members of the HR team to promote
professional growth and engagement.
- - - - - - -Provide creative program ideas and facilitate
management of large-scale projects that impact NPSG's ability to
attract, retain, and develop talent
- - - - - - -Drive programs that maximize a positive employee
experience through the whole lifecycle, from recruiting to
offboarding
Education/Experience:
- - - - - - -Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field. -An
advanced degree is desirable
- - - - - - -Strong business acumen and leadership abilities
- - - - - - -Ability to listen and probe to understand underlying
needs and/or root cause of an issue
- - - - - - -Ability to provide thoughtful and strategic
guidance
- - - - - - -Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with
key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes
- - - - - - -Outstanding judgement, sensitivity, and a high degree
of discretion
- - - - - - -A minimum of 10 years' HR management experience, with
progressively increasing responsibilities
- - - - - - -At least 6 years of experience working with
operational teams within a manufacturing, supply chain, and/or
construction environment
- - - - - - -Solid knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
-Experience with labor relations is a plus
- - - - - - -Strong background in creating and executing HR
strategy, talent planning, organizational design, workforce
planning, training, employee relations, and talent acquisition
- - - - - - -Superior interpersonal skills, including demonstrated
ability to build collaborative relationships with employees at all
levels of the organization (operations/production, and corporate
environments)
Experience designing and leading major change or transformation
projects
Demonstrated strong project management skills with solid ability to
manage complex requirements in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written, oral, and presentations skills
Experience in a multi-state environment. -Exposure to a global
organization is a plus
SHRM-SCP -or SPHR certification preferred
Travel up to 15%
