Job Description Salary: 30-40 an hour DOE Job Opening: The
leading manufacturer in the payment industry, Castles Technology,
is looking for a self-motivated Experienced Level service engineer
for Company product line based on Linux and Android platforms, who
will be responsible for assisting Company customers setting up,
deploying and troubleshooting software applications running on our
hardware terminals. The most successful candidates must be able to
adapt to a fast-paced environment, thrive on multi-tasking, embrace
inner office communication as a tool for success, bring a positive
approach to team efforts, and have the ability to execute tasks in
a timely manner with attention to detail. Job Purpose: The
Technical Service Engineer role plays an important role in
company---s product support process. The ideal candidate is
responsible for providing the enterprise-level assistance to our
customers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware
problems and help our customers install and configure our hardware
products. The Technical Service Engineer---s responsibilities
include resolving network issues, configuring operating systems and
using remote desktop connections to provide immediate support. You
will use email and chat applications to deliver clients quick
answers to their issues. For more complex problems that require
nuanced instruction, you will contact clients via phone and/or
provide clear, written instructions and technical manuals.

Responsibilities: Research and identify solutions to software and
hardware issues Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in Linux
and Android platforms Ask customers targeted questions to quickly
understand the root of the problem Track system issues through to
resolution, within agreed time limits Talk clients through a series
of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they---ve solved
a technical issue Properly escalate unresolved issues to
appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers) Provide
prompt and accurate feedback to customers Refer to internal or
external resources to provide accurate tech solutions Ensure all
issues are properly logged Prioritize and manage several open
issues at one time Follow up with clients to ensure their systems
are fully functional after troubleshooting Prepare accurate and
timely reports Document technical knowledge in the form of notes
and manuals Maintain positive relationships with clients Work with
team of software & QA engineers and project managers to understand
end-user needs, requirements, specifications and technical design
documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback and maintain
effective testing process Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate
development activities together with the team lead or project
manager Required Skills: Prior experience in Payment Industry, POS,
deployment, vending machine or Kiosk installation College graduate
(Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent degree) Strong
understanding of software development process, Agile/Scrum
methodologies and best coding practices Prior experience developing
on Android and Linux platforms Working knowledge of software
development using C, C++, Java on Linux and Android platforms Good
knowledge of Android SDK, different versions and various screen
size resolutions Familiarity with Linux development environment,
i.e. GCC/G, GDB, etc. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic
technical issues Familiarity with RESTful backend APIs
Understanding and ability to use binary and hexadecimal numbering
systems Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both
written and verbal Other: Good communication, analytical &
problem-solving skills Highly organized No H1B visa sponsorship
