Summer Counselor position at Kids R Kids Sandy Plains Academy is a
unique opportunity that combines transportation and mentorship for
children during the summer months. The primary goal of this role is
to ensure the safe and timely transportation of children to and
from various summer activities while also providing guidance and
support as a counselor. This position requires a strong commitment
to child safety, as well as the ability to engage and inspire young
minds through various recreational and educational activities. The
ideal candidate will foster a positive and inclusive environment,
ensuring that each child feels valued and supported. Ultimately,
this role plays a crucial part in creating a memorable and
enriching summer experience for all participants. Minimum
Qualifications: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a
passenger endorsement. Previous experience working with children in
a camp or educational setting. Strong communication and
interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: First Aid and CPR
certification. Experience in planning and leading recreational
activities. Abilities to communicate with a diverse group of
children and families. Responsibilities: Safely transport children
to and from designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and
safety regulations. Supervise and engage with children during
activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Plan and
facilitate fun and educational activities that promote teamwork,
creativity, and personal growth. Communicate effectively with
parents and guardians regarding schedules, activities, and any
concerns. Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the bus,
conducting regular safety checks and reporting any issues. Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong driving
abilities and a thorough understanding of safety protocols, which
are essential for transporting children safely. Communication
skills are vital for interacting with children, parents, and staff,
ensuring that everyone is informed and comfortable. Leadership
skills will be utilized daily to guide children through activities,
fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Additionally,
organizational skills will help in planning and executing engaging
programs that cater to the interests and needs of the children.
Preferred skills, such as First Aid and CPR certification, will
