Job Summary Part-time instructor for a multi-site college in the
University System of Georgia. Reporting to the Division Chair for
the School of Humanities, the part-time instructor is responsible
for preparing for and delivering instruction for courses in
English/Writing Center.The PT Writing Center instructor will agree
to a weekly schedule of sessions set up with individual students,
at least two days per week, lasting for the full term. This is the
equivalent of class time. All PT Writing Instructors will be
assigned a group of up to 40 students using Navigate. The
instructor is responsible for working with these students and their
support team, including advisors and instructors, to develop and
strengthen communication and study skills. PT Writing Instructors
also attend all PT faculty meetings and assess student outcomes via
Navigate reporting features.Georgia Highlands is a growing and

Responsibilities Manage courses through systematic use of
syllabiKeep accurate records of students' class performance,
attendance, and gradesAdopt and implement common course
objectivesAttend part-time faculty orientation prior to the
beginning of the semesterParticipate in assessment of student
learning outcomes.Writing Center:Contribute to development of
Writing Center syllabi and materials.Maintain a regular weekly
schedule of Writing Center sessions.Participate in outreach
campaigns to engage and retain students in Writing Center
activities.Attend training to learn Navigate protocol. Required
Qualifications Master's degree with 18 hours of graduate-level
English and Writing coursesAvailable to teach day, evening, or
weekends at any of the Georgia Highlands College instructional
sites. Proposed Salary Salary determined by instructor part-time
pay scale
