Job Description:
The Georgia Dental Association (GDA) is seeking a Chief
Financial Officer. The selected candidate will be a member of the
senior management team and is responsible for the financial,
budgeting, investment and accounting operations of GDA its
subsidiaries and affiliated organizations. The position reports to
the COO and is responsible for management of the accounting
department/staff, preparation and production of financial reports,
maintenance of accounting records, recording financial
transactions, reconciling accounts, investments and other duties as
assigned. The candidate would work to enhance the accuracy of the
company's reported financial results and ensure that financial
reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The
role requires an efficient and resourceful roll up your sleeve's
individual with extensive QuickBooks background and a full
understanding of accrual-based accounting. Knowledge of
intercompany transactions is also required. Staff management
experience would be a plus. Association experience would be
helpful, but it is not required.The Georgia Dental Association

packagePrimary Job duties:Oversee/manage accounting operations of
Georgia Dental Association and subsidiary corporations and
affiliated organizationsOversee operations of accounting department
and manage department staffMaintain the chart of accounts, an
orderly accounting filing system and controls over accounting
transactionsEnsure that all accounts payable are paid and recorded
in a timely mannerEnsure that all accounts receivables are
collected promptlyComplete bank reconciliationsPrepare timely and
complete monthly and annual financial reports (Balance Sheets,
P&L, Cash Flow, Investments)Responsible for preparation and
production of the annual budgetsCalculate variances from the budget
and report significant issues to managementManage outside auditors
and coordinate and prepare information for the annual auditRequired
Experience/Education:Bachelor's degree in accounting10+ years
progressive accounting experienceExperience in supervising
othersExtensive experience with QuickBooks and intercompany
transactionsFull understanding of accrual-based
accountingAssociation experience is a plus---Desired skills:Able to
meet deadlines with minimal supervisionOrganized self-starter who
is able to prioritize workloadDemonstrates attention to detail,
flexibility and independenceInteracts professionally with internal
