Job DescriptionSalary: Accounting Clerk Are you a financial problem solver? Do you like to help and support others with numbers and data? Are you a driven individual looking for a career, not just a job? We are looking for an accounting clerk with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for handling and maintaining the accounts payable and daily cash depositing/posting functions of the organization. Paying close attention to details for accuracy is an essential requirement for this job position. To be successful you should be able to efficiently coordinate daily workflow and follow departmental and company policies. An outstanding Accounting Clerk should also possess strong people skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Responsibilities

• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording data
• Prepare invoices and bank deposits
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions Required Skills
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to learn other accounting software systems
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
  • Remain calm and controlled during periods of high stress and/or looming deadlines Desired Skills
    • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
    • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
    • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
    • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
    • Experience with QuickBooks
